About the Chicago Auto Show

Did you know that the first Chicago Auto Show was held in 1901? Below are some pictures of earlier Chicago Auto Shows – from the first one in 1901, to 1903’s exhibition held at Chicago’s Coliseum Hall, then located on Wabash betweeen 15th & 16th Streets, to the 30’s, 70’s, and 80’s.

The Venue – McCormick Place

McCormick Place (named after Robert R. McCormick) is North America’s largest and most flexible multi-use convention center.  In 1958, the ground was broken for a $35 million dollar facility that opened in November 1960.

Today, McCormick place is a sprawling 2.78 million square feet!  That equates to about 56 1/2 football fields!  Not only will you have an unforgettable day at the Auto Show, but can certainly cover and exceed your 10,000 fitness step goals!
