About the Chicago Auto Show

Did you know that the first Chicago Auto Show was held in 1901? Below are some pictures of earlier Chicago Auto Shows – from the first one in 1901, to 1903’s exhibition held at Chicago’s Coliseum Hall, then located on Wabash betweeen 15th & 16th Streets, to the 30’s, 70’s, and 80’s.

The Venue – McCormick Place

McCormick Place (named after Robert R. McCormick) is North America’s largest and most flexible multi-use convention center.  In 1958, the ground was broken for a $35 million dollar facility that opened in November 1960.

Today, McCormick place is a sprawling 2.78 million square feet!  That equates to about 56 1/2 football fields!  Not only will you have an unforgettable day at the Auto Show, but can certainly cover and exceed your 10,000 fitness step goals!

First Look for Charity Kicks Things Off

Participants can be the first to see the nation’s largest auto show by attending the black-tie First Look for Charity black-tie event, benefiting 18 non-profits in the area.  Complimentary top-shelf refreshments complement abundant hors d’oeuvres from notable Chicago eateries.  See HERE for more information.
