The truth of the matter is, that for good parents, ALL of these are likely appropriate words to describe them at some point or the other!<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Most people have such great childhood memories of their parents, from trips to the zoo and vacations, to them pushing you to help prepare for the spelling bee, to &#8216;helping&#8217; with homework (although sometimes not very helpful), to supporting you at recitals and sporting events, and on into adulthood as Dad walks his daughter down the aisle, to seeing the adorable interaction with them and the grandchildren. A combined Parents&#8217; Day acknowledgement came years later.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2><strong>History of Parents\u2019 Day<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In 1994, it was decided that since there is a Mothers&#8217; Day and Fathers&#8217; Day, why not have a day celebrating both of them together? The main goal is to remind us of the importance of <strong>family<\/strong> and our need to love, cherish, and honor those great parents. It is a day to show our parents some EXTRA thanks and love for all that they have done for us.
