Summer Music Events in Chicagoland – Your Guide to House Music and More!
All throughout Chicagoland, outdoor summer music events are on the top of the priority list for many! There are plenty to choose from and enjoy, and in this blog, several will be highlighted. Millennium Park kicked off its summer concerts with the Gospel Fest, June 1st, the House Music Festival on June 2nd, and the beloved Blues Fest was held this past weekend. There’s so much more ahead!

This year marks 40 years of House Music being celebrated this year, with a lineup of events sure to please ‘House Heads’ everywhere. While the Chicago House Music Conference and Chicago House Music Festival were held on June 2nd, there are still several exciting events to come.
– Beach House

– Chosen Few Picnic
When: July 13th Where: Jackson Park
This is the highlight of the year for House Music enthusiasts. This family-reunion-style event unfolds each July and features over 12 hours of nonstop House Music by the South side DJs who helped create it.
– Soul of Chicago House Music Fest
When: July 19-21st Where: Chicago Teachers Union
SoulJack Digital and The Chicago Teachers Union Foundation invite you to 3 days of House Music with 2 stages and over 40 DJs playing different types of House Music. This event is free for the whole family along with special raffle prizes and more.
– ARC Music Festival
When: Aug 30 – Sept 1 Where: Union Park
ARC Music Festival takes place for three days in Union Park over Labor Day weekend. Fashion. Dancing. Loaded lineups. This immersive dance music celebration showcases house DJs as well as techno and other genres at the fest and at after-parties around the city.

Three days of hip-hop performances on three stages at the Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash Festival – an all-ages event.
Millennium Park Summer Music Series
When: Mondays and Thursdays, July 1-Aug. 8 Where: Millennium Park
The Jay Pritzker Pavilion will be the site of multiple free concerts during summer as a part of the Millennium Park Music Series. The free music series features a wide variety of music from local, national, and international artists.
Windy City Smokeout
When: July 11 – 14th Where: outside United Center
The country music, barbecue and beer festival will feature over 20 artists and numerous food and beer vendors. Headliners include Thomas Rhett, Parker McCollum, Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood. HERE is a link for more information.
Pitchfork Music Festival
When: July 17-19 Where: Union Park
Chicago’s annual summer rock festival focuses primarily on independent artists from the alternative rock, electro-pop, and hip-hop genres.
